10 May How to Choose a Mattress: Test, Reviews, Warranty
In part one of this two-part blog series, we looked some of the initial steps to take as you begin the process of choosing a new mattress. There are several themes to keep in mind here, from the material that’s best for your needs to the firmness levels you require, and going about the process intelligently is vital.
At 2 Brothers Mattress, we offer a huge range of mattress options to our clients, from firm mattresses to soft options, hybrids and many others. In today’s part two of our series, we’ll go over some of the other basic themes and steps to consider as you’re moving forward with new mattress selection.
Test-Run Mattresses if Possible
If at all possible, it’s a great idea to test-run any mattresses you’re considering before you make a purchase. This is vital to do because everyone experiences comfort differently. What feels comfortable to one person may not for another, and the only way to really know if a mattress is right for you is to sleep on it.
Many mattress stores will have showrooms where you can lie down on mattresses for a few minutes to get an initial idea. However, if you want to take things a step further, some stores also offer the option to test-run mattresses in your own home before making a purchase.
Read Reviews and Online Recommendations
It’s also important to evaluate online reviews and recommendations as you choose your new mattress. This can provide some great insights from others who may have purchased the same or similar mattresses, and what they thought of them.
It’s important to be aware that not all online reviews are reliable, however. Sometimes companies will post their own positive reviews to try and improve a product’s reputation, or negative reviews will be posted by competitors. Try to find review sources that you trust, and always take these with a grain of salt.
Be Sure to Consider the Warranty
Like any other high-value item you’re considering for purchase, it’s important to evaluate the warranty that comes along with a new mattress.
In most cases, you’ll find that mattresses come with some sort of extended warranty that will cover defects or other issues that may occur over time. It’s important to be aware of what exactly is covered under the warranty, however, as this can vary depending on the company and product. Warranties may be offered by both mattress manufacturers and mattress retailers, and knowing which one to go through in the event that something goes wrong can save you a lot of headache down the road.
We hope this two-part series has helped give you some insights into choosing a new mattress. If you’re ready to start shopping for your perfect mattress, be sure to check out our huge selection at 2 Brothers Mattress!
